As we all know Mitutoyo is based in Japan and we all feel terrible about the Earthquake.
We have a long relationship with Mitutoyo and pray that they recover from this disaster.  They are in our thoughts and prayers.

We wish to express our most heartfelt sympathy for the people of Japan who have sustained tremendous damage and loss of life due to the March 11, 2011 earthquake and tsunami. We would also like to thank our business partners who have contacted us to express their concerns and sympathy. Currently, Mitutoyo Corporation has dispatched teams to study what damage has occurred to its facilities and what effects that damage will have on production. As well, Mitutoyo must make contact with key suppliers and service providers to determine what the effect will be on its supply chain. Given the state of continued crisis in affected areas of the country, getting this type of information is expected to take some time. One thing that we do know for sure is that our headquarters located near Tokyo and our Utsunomiya plants are on a half day schedule due to electricity rationing in those cities. This situation is expected to continue through the end of April. We will continue to share information with our business partners as it becomes known to us.
