This deeply rooted honorary award is more than just recognition of hard work; it’s an honor awarded by every NASCAR Sprint Cup Crew Chief. With 22 top 10 finishes and 10 top 5 finishes, the #88 Hendrick Motorsports pit crew proved that they can quickly and consistently pit the #88 Chevrolet and keep Dale Earnhardt Jr. in championship contention.
In its 12^th year running, the Mechanix Wear Most Valuable Pit Crew Award is the longest running and most coveted pit crew award in NASCAR. Throughout the season NASCAR Crew Chiefs elect a semi-finalist for each quarter and of those four finalists one team is deemed the Most Valuable Pit Crew. Sure the $100,000 prize is nice, but bragging rights carry heavy weight amongst these tool-men. The iconic MVPC trophy serves as a testament to consistent performance on pit road. Without these guys the car wouldn’t leave pit road, plain and simple.
