Visiting Mitutoyo Factory In Germany 1994

Mitutoyo has been operating in Germany since 1968 and is today represented by the headquarter in Neuss on Rhine and five more solution centers in Hamburg, Berlin, Eisenach, Leonberg and Ingolstadt. Round about 266 employees are on duty here in the departments for development, service, sales and administration. Additionally, the experts at the Computer Technology Laboratory CTL in Oberndorf on Neckar are engaged exclusively in developing software for three-coordinate-measuring technique, setting world standards with their products. The peripheral equipment for coordinate measuring machines, such as fixture and loading systems as well as air-conditioned cabins, is provided by the subsidiary company KOMEG in Saarland.

Mitutoyo’s product range in Germany is subdivided into eight product groups:

* Coordinate Measuring Machines
* Vision Measuring Systems
* Form Measuring Instruments
* Optical Measuring
* Sensor Systems
* Test Equipment and Seismometers
* Digital Scales and DRO Systems
* Small Tool Instruments and Data Management

In addition to the measuring and testing instruments, the product range comprises a wide variety of accessories and - as another focal point - sophisticated high-performance software for coordinate measuring machines, vision measuring systems and form measurement.

With the Information Center of Metrology (MIM), Mitutoyo has been engaged in basic and advanced training in all areas of length measuring technology in Germany since 1999. The MIM is open for interested persons from the fields of manufacturing, service, science and research. Furthermore, Mitutoyo Europe GmbH is a corporate member of “Ausbildung Koordinatenmesstechnik e. V. (AUKOM)”. AUKOM is attending to training and education in coordinate measuring technology, with the objective of providing a device-independent, comprehensive and modern training concept.

Since 2004 the German Mitutoyo headquarter has also been the domicile of M³-Solutions Europe. The shortcut M³ stands for Mitutoyo Measurement Metrology, thus representing the concept for special measurement solutions by Mitutoyo which meet the individual customer requirements within the complete range of length measuring technique as well as form and surface measuring technique. On 400 m², the Mitutoyo headquarter in Neuss demonstrates the manifold possibilities by means of example configurations in the M³ Solution Center. Additionally to the measuring instruments, peripherical systems such as fixture, loading and air-conditioning systems by KOMEG are exhibited.
